Departure from Madrid and arrival at TORRELODONES WATCHTOWER, erected during the Umayyad period of Al-Andalus. It is one of the best-preserved Muslim watchtowers in the Madrid Region.We continue our journey to reach the majestic CASTEL OF MANZANARES EL REAL, where we can stroll around the renaissance gardens and visit the interior of the castle if you wish. It was the residence of the families with the largest lineage in Castilla in the Middle Ages: Los Mendoza.
We continue to BUITRAGO DE LOZOYA, which stands proudly on a promontory surrounded by the Lozoya river, we will walk through its walled enclosure, its Gothic-Mudejar Castle, it was residence of the Marquis of Santillana and family
Time to enjoy a walk and have lunch.
Then we head towards MIRABEL TOWER, from the 16th century and of Christian origin, located in a border emplacement as a watch-defensive tower.
Photographic Stop in TORREPEDRERA WATCHTOWER, which is part of a set of defensive watchtowers that controlled the passage to the communication routes and inhabited valleys of the Madrid Hills during the period of Islamic domination, which is known as Medium Mark of Al-Andalus
After a few kilometres we arrive at TORRELAGUNA, and make a stop at the ARREBATACAPAS WATCHTOWER, one of the six watchtowers of the Jarama. Did you know that the term Jarama derives from a Berber word that means boarder river or nobody´s river?
We continue to the town of TALAMANCA DEL JARAMA, a place that will pleasantly surprise us, surrounded by wide avenues. We will walk through the old town, its walled enclosure, its access doors will transport us to the High Middle Ages.
After the visit return to MADRID
